Roles and Responsibilities:-
Underneath the guidance of Director, GNLU Centre for Environment and Sustainable Development / Project Director, the incumbent shall perform the next responsibilities and roles;
(i) Creating awareness among various stakeholders of biotechnology which mainly includes, but is not limited to, researchers at various levels in various government and private organizations of the state.
(ii) To train researchers in the method of governmental approval for biotechnology research, processes or products and other requirements for scientific data and approval.
(iii) Examine the emerging economic and social issues arising from the use of new biotechnology from a legal and ethical standpoint and share current trends and essential components of ethics, legal issues, and regulations.
(iv) To supply a community for multidisciplinary dialogue and reflection between lawyers, ethicists, bioscientists, clinicians, policymakers and other stakeholders.
(v) Explore related areas such as for example law and genetics, Research on human tissues and stem cells, bio-security, biobanks and gene patents.
(vi) Become a community for the exchange of ideas between bioscientists, lawyers, bioethics, policymakers, the biotech industry and other stakeholders.
(vii) Conduct interdisciplinary research in relevant aspects of law in collaboration with teaching and research staff including honorary members and students;
(viii) Provide research help with teaching, research staff as and when required them;
(ix) Execute, develop, plan, monitor and report interdisciplinary Research in collaboration with external universities, institutions, government departments, industrial and economic agencies, judiciary within India and abroad;
(x) Provide research counselling and scholastic help with Teaching and Research Associates;
(xi) Provide input to teaching faculty on the newest research developments and emerging research trends in respective fields;
(xii) Perform some other duties including administrative, coordination, etc. as required to accomplish the aims and objectives of the University.
Essential Qualification &
Criteria:-
(i) Master's Degree in Law with at the least 55% from the University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university;
(ii) NET Conducted by the CSIR, UGC or SLET/SET.
(iii) Good familiarity with the latest national and international research trends and developments in relevant area;
(iv) Power to conceptualize and organize international training workshops and brainstorming online/on-site discussions besides teaching/Research;
(v) Fluency in the English language.
Highly desirable:-
(i) Teaching/Research Experience in premier law universities/colleges in relevant area;
(ii) Excellent inter-personal and team-building skills;
(iii) Capability to innovate and to boost academic programmes or services and to pursue interesting new ideas and new methods.
